Has it been that long.....

Almost two weeks? Has it really been that long since my last blog? I quess so, I better
get my ass in gear and get to blogging. Last week was a pretty good week at work.
Nothing special except that we started the new job on Mercer Island, which isn't to bad of a
drive. It is nice not staying in a motel room every night, that is for sure.
The week started out like every new job we go to, they didn't have any equipment there for us to use until Wednesday, so we spent Monday just going over the plans and just seeing what we had,
looking at parts and pipe and locating a few of the underground utilities that were already there. Water, power, gas and telephone, so when we do to dig near them we already know where they are. Tuesday, when we were suppose to start digging and they still hadn't
delivered our equipment to use, we only worked a half day, which sucked.
Wednesday we had to go back up to Smokey Point for the day to finish one stretch of pipe that they wanted us to do. Good thing we didn't it, because I can guarantee there isn't another
pipe crew that would have done what Reyes and I had to do to make the pipe work. I know
that for a fact. I have seen our other pipe crews work, and I know they wouldn't have just
done what they had to to get it done.

Yesterday we all had so much fun up at the Scottish Highlander Games. Thanks for the invite.
The music is fantastic and the food as well. They boys were so exhausted and wore out. A long hot day in the sun does that to all of us. I was exhausted as well. I am up
early today and getting ready to go help my buddy Dan move into a new house. He Called
me up and asked if I could give him a hand moving into his new house today
he said the boys are welcome to come along, so we are going to head up there sometime
around 630 this morning.
that is the update from me.

Tuesday the 14th of June

I know I have been slackin' on my blogs lately...to all those who like to or enjoy reading them my apologies. things are going well this week. It hasn't been the most productive week thus far and it won't be by the end of it, but we are getting a bunch of little things done that have to get done. This is our last week up here and we are on schedule to go to Mercer Island for a couple of weeks, then to Puyallup for a couple weeks, then to Bellevue for a deep dig.
Lou (my digger) and I got a compliment in a round about way. The job in Bellevue is a deep sewer run that is about 30 feet deep and only expected to get 60 feet a day. Some complex thing and just a "big dig." They wanted another crew to do it, but our superintendent Benny wants us to do it....because. I was told that he said...." I want you guys to do it because I trust Seth as a pipe layer and Lou.....that guys is a damn good digger." Which is right where Lou and I want to be. We want our work to speak for itself and not have to beg for recognition. We have on deep dig under our belt together which was Alderwood Mall in Lynwood. The first job we did together for this company. Now we are getting a chance to do another one.
Lou and I talked about it a little after work today and we both feel the same. We just want our work to speak for itself and for the company to say... "those guys are good" not necessarily to our face but just by giving us the deep digs and the big money jobs and the hard jobs. Even if we don't make all our quotes, they know we haven't had any one get hurt, we haven't broken any utilities (gas, water, sewer, power lines) that are still in operation. As much as we have had to dig under them, or dig around them, or over them.
That make the day for Lou and I. At least for me. Lou has always been able to be the best digger at every company who goes to, because he is. I am just fortunate to have been placed with an operator that is the best. I got lucky when I started laying pipe. I hope he never retires while I am still in the ditch.

Half through the week already.

Well, we have made it half way throught the week already, finally got to work some 9.5 hour shifts so we don't have to work so long on Friday or Thursday when ever we get to head home. Things this week have been just pretty much doing some little things that aren't to difficult, but keep us busy and get us our hours. Although, we still seem to be ahead of what they want us to do and they haven't got shit lined out for us.

Thank you to everyone for a wonderful visit with grandma last weekend. She looks and sounds like she is doing very well. It was really good to be able to visit her with everyone.

Gabby and I had a good 4th, here sisters, nieces and nephew and their friends, and step mom all came over and I good to be the BBQ operator. It was a lot of fun. it was a beautiful day for and It was a really enjoyable day. They all are very nice and laid back which makes it easy to relax and have a good time.

Well that is about it for now......

I hope Sue and Becky get of to a good start and have a great trip and a great visit with Becky's family.

Another hump day.....

Well, I am making it through yet another week of work. Always wonderful up here and always
ready to go home no matter what. Hot up here, well I am sure it is hot everywhere in the sound,
suppose to be around 80 today, I know yesterday it was up there somewhere in temperature, and it was almost to hot for me. Thank goodness we are starting at six and getting of at 2
so that we beat most of the heat.
I don't know when the end of this job will be here, but I am all ready for it to end. I am
so ready to be able to stay at home and go home every night. It just gets old being away
and not going home every night.
Well time to get my boots on and get my ass moving, no real motivation any more for this place,
but I guess you still have to get up and do it again....so here I go.
