It is so pathetic! Maybe it is only in construction, but I do believe that you will find it in every business. I have yet to figure out how to be a lazy, dumb and worthless employee. I work my ass off every day. I do things that my foreman is supposed to do and I still do what I am supposed to do. All by busting my ass day after day. There are a few other people that I work with that are in the same position. They are the hardest workers and the smart ones, all in one. The problem with being smart, being able to do more than just your job, and working your ass off at all of it... you get to stay right where you are. You will continue to get the hard, back breaking work, and the complicated precise work.
I have worked for a few different foreman and I have asked them both..."why does the laziest guy on the crew get to run equipment when we need it?" (these are laborers just like me except for they are lazy pieces of shit.) My point being that the operators make more money, so the more time you get to spend on equipment the better chance you will get to be at a higher pay scale. They never respond to this. I now know why, because if they reward the hardest and smartest workers by letting them operate so they can get paid more (which they deserve) who would to all the work. Even though there are three or four other people, the work wouldn't get done.
I have become more and more pissed about this whole things. If I am that valuable doing the shit work and the hard work, then pay me more or let me doing something that will allow me to get paid more. I know ultimately it is my choice to stay or go, but you would think that these people would let you get somewhere. Not keep the hard workers on the ground busting their ass, because that is how they work. Reward them and get rid of the lazy ones. F#$% I am pissed right now about this. It absolutely makes me livid. AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!
I hope everyone out there had a great day.
Tomorrow is Friday......yiiippppppeeeeeeeee.

I once felt that in a previous job. And I was burnt out when they finally put me in the same payrate as the rest of the world for what I was doing. Unfortunately, it turned out that money doesn't cure burnout and I didn't care about it. What mattered to me was the crappy and dishonest and disrespectful environment and for how long it took to get any respect, AND that their idea of respect was monetary. I quit not long after. Afterwards I wondered why I put up with it, but there's that whole gotta pay the bills and get by problem, the fear keeps one down.
Don't keep the anger because it only comes from the fact that there isn't any real sense or "justice" to your situation. It is one in which you have no influence or control over. And it's a microcosam of the world built around us.
Let's call this bulls**t by it's common names:
1. Progress, in which something is lost in the long run to gain in the short;
2. "the american way" to work against each other, pitting me against you;
3.It's also called competition. Where you lose and I win and only the losers complain because well, it sucks to be taken advantage of, live in poverty, live in a minority and so on.
And it's important to maintain this or else life would be more inclined to equalise itself and a lot more happiness result. If we aren't pitted against each other we would be turning our energies and interests to larger topics.
