I hope you all made it over the hump today, and are looking forward to the next two days of the week. Be productive and keep up all the hard work, the weekend is coming. Today was a good day at WORK. Things went well and we got stuff done.
I have been thinking about "dreams" lately. How many of us have had dreams though out our lives? Dreams that are never heard...Dreams that have and never will come true... I have realized that after we reach a certain point in our lives, those dreams fade away and soon are forgotten.
"THE AMERICAN DREAM"
That's a motto? That's a slogan? For what? For who?
It has been nothing but propaganda by the government and by the those who control the government...THE RICH!!!
"the american dream"(deserves nothing more than lower case letters) has never existed in my lifetime. Or for that matter in anyone lifetime. There is no such thing! We have been so naive(sp.) as a nation. We have been persuaded to become materialistic in a nation that is corrupt and evil. There are a select few that haven't been sucked in to this. Those are the ones that
"THE LAND OF THE FREE" fear and target for whatever reason.....I don't know.
I have only heard once in my entire life a person say..."I am living my dream!" Did it last? No! It never does. It was cut short, much to my dismay.......by the evils of money.
We are all here in a land that our forefathers gave us. That was founded for the people...maybe! It may have been as corrupt then as it is now. One things is for sure, america (which in today's world doesn't deserve to be capitalized) is no longer the land of the free or the home of the brave. It is the land of the corrupt and cowardly (they are the minority, but they are the rich minority). It is the land of The rich and The poor. It is the land that no longer belongs to the people, but instead to the rich, the corrupt and controlled by the idiocracy... better known as our government.
How did so many people in a nation of millions become so blind?
I have come to the conclusion that, there is now reason to dream! Or wish! Depression is slowly become a plague in this country and to dream and wish will only lead more and more of us in to a state of it.
We must go on day by day...one second at a time...one breath after another...
Is this negative thinking? Maybe. Or is it a face to face look at where we are as a nation and what we have become?
Be happy with yourself...love yourself...and love each other...
The more we care about our family, our neighbors, and our friends, the more we will care about ourselves.
I have dreamed...I have wished... now I just live.
I am happy through all of this and I will continue to smile day after day.

Seth, I typed you a nice long comment and then had trouble submitting it because there was something wrong with the user name or password. I'll send this as a test, if it works I'll send a comment. Connie
As I was saying before, I understand your disillusionment with dreams and hopes and wishes. I always thought that life was fair if you were a good person, not so. But there is still the need for dreams and hopes, they keep us going and give us goals. They don't have to be big dreams, little ones work too! I've had trouble lately seeing much good in life, but then I have a great day and want more, it's very confusing isn't it!
It's good to hear your thoughts on the current political atmosphere in our country. It's maddening and embarrassing that we are so greedy. Anyway, I listened to Ralph Nader on Democracy Now radio program today. I've always liked him, and he sounded better than ever. He really has the right answers to all of the issues, climate change(we need to all go solar power), health care (free for all, paid by the government-no more "pay or die"),Iraq(all military and corporations out in 6 months, UN aid workers in, multilateral support for a multi party Iraqi gov't.)Corporate greed (stop all corporate welfare, tax breaks), etc. I think I'm going to vote for him. I voted for him the time before last and I caved in to the game of politics and voted for Kerry last time, but now I think I'm back with Nader. I thought I liked Obama, but I'm afraid he's being controlled by the corporations already and won't make the changes we all hope for.
Love you, Connie
I got them both, thank you. I responded to them on usedgenes first, because I don't know how my moment response on this works. So I gave it a try with this little response.
