Sunday October 18

Well, here I am again...for my weekely update. We had a pretty good week at work last week. Although the rain was of no help to us. We are digging some large holes for some large power vaults. The difficulty is that we are right down in Seattle where the water table is quite shallow and when you are digging in sand with water in the whole.....yep you guessed it the hole just gets wider and never deeper. The water just causes the sides to continue to cave in and fill the bottom up. Seems like you never get any where. We have to set well points down deeper than we are excavating, fill around them with rock, drop our pumps in and start pumping. The rock helps to filter the sand out so our pumps don't get plugged up. The other wonderful obstacle that is in our way in the storm/sewer pipe that is running through our ditch, that we have to remove and replace every day. Yeppp... you guessed it again with all the rain it has made for a wonderfully muddy wet mess. But! I you just keep trying to maintain and control it as much a possible...which isn't possible.
Jack has been sick with the same thing that Luke had last week. He has broncitise (spelling), a sinus infection, and water in his ears. He didn't play in his game yesterday, he actually didn't even go because of the weather. I went and watched the rest of them. His team won. It was their first playoff game and they won. It was a tough fought win, but they got it. I believe next week in the semifinals and then the championship if they win. I guess this is the first time that Tenino's minor league football team has made it to the semifinals.
Next weekend...weather permitting...I was going to see if anyone was up for going to the corn maze with the boys and I out at Rutledge farms and then take them to watch Where the Wild Things Are. Jack will have a game on Saturday, I don't know when or where yet, but when I find out I will let people know.
That is the update for me, on to another wonderful week of work in a wet muddy hole. Hopefully the rain will cooperate with us and give us a chance to get our work done this week.

FYI... I've heard that Where the Wild Things Are is a sad movie.
