December 29, 2009

Well, here I am using Thess's computer, because for some reason the one we had working just isn't connecting any more. It will ask if I want to connect, but then it has a problem connecting it. I have played around with it and so has Thess...don't know what the heck it is. Oh well!!! Thank you all for a wonderful Christmas once again and thank you Connie for the comment.
No work yet this week, and I have heard nothing for tomorrow so I am planning on the day off again. Went to Gabby's sister's house last night and had dinner with the entire family and played some card games. I had a really good time and according to her they all seem to like me okay. We are just watching Jiminy Glick and have a fire going. It is a cold one tonight. I am glad everyone came over and had a good time for Christmas. We will see you all on New Years at Sue and Becky's house. Gabby and the boys will be there as well.

Christmas Day 2009

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE WHO HAPPENS ACROSS MY BLOG.

Which is, as far as I know only family, and they will get there Christmas greeting when they get to the house today. I am curious,as times if anyone I don't know ever stumbles across my blogspot and reads any of it. Oh, well doesn't really matter as far as my existence is concerned, but it does matter as far as my mental sanity goes. But not really.
Thess and I are up and at it this morning, both of us doing the same thing. I on my laptop and her on hers. I will be heading out to pick up the boys in about an hours and bringing them back to the house so they can spend Christmas here. I actually woke up this morning and there was a little bit of child inside of me that told me to hurry up and go see what santa brought. Then I realized....oh yeah, I'm an adult now. There is no Santa Claus. If only there really was, if only all of mankind got be a child and have that feeling of overwhelming joy and surpise just one day out of the year. Why can't Santa exist? We have the technology to fly? There are already sweatshops, and child labor, and illegal immigrates that make everything. Some one just needs to take the time and put a little effort into it. I am sure "the man" could come up with something, after all he does support sweatshops, and child labor. How do I know.....we have nike.
I hope that was to much of an absolutely randem babbling, but to late...I am posting it now.

December 20,2009

Well, as you all know by now I am finally up and running again. Thanks to Thess and John. It has been quite some time since I have had the oppurtunitty to write a blog. Things are going well for me, for the most part. Work is getting us through day to day and we seem to have work out there to go to. I am already for Christmas and have all my presents wrapped. I was actually done with all that last week. I got a jump on everything so I didn't have to do it all at the last minute.
It this year has been quite a bit different for my crew at work. Not really any overtime to speak of and only got on Saturday all year. A few of the guys on the crew did work a couple Saturdays with other crews to help out. It seems as though the dirt crew suck up all the overtime and all the profit out of every job. Of course that is just speculation on my part. Every job we as a company have, the dirt crews end up working 10 and 12 hour days, Saturdays (time and a half) and a lot of Sundays (douple time). This is a result of them getting so far behind the on jobs that they have to put in all the extra hours to meet the deadlines at the end. As a crew we do get pretty pissed of. It seems we get all the jobs that are a major pain in the ass, take a lot more thought and time to get done. And then we are told only 8 hours a day. Go figure...is it because we are productive enough in those 8 hours that we don't need to work overtime to get it done on time. Is it because we work efficiently enough that we don't have to put the extra time in to finish. Or is it because for some strange reason they just don't want us getting any overtime. Their are some guys that have worked the past 4 or 5 months worth of Saturdays and have worked 6, 7, 8, 9 Sundays in that same period. Then here we are usually getting 40 hours a week, but alot of weeks with 37 and 38, and that is even trying to stretch our work out just to get those hours. Oh well!!!! We just think of it as...efficiency and productiveness. How else to explain it?
